The timeslots for this experience will open up closer to July 2022, as we begin our first seasonal honey harvest.
Wondering how honey is produced and harvested? Curious what goes on behind the scenes in a beekeeping operation? Join Sarah and Peter to find out!
During this experience you will have the opportunity to see how honey is produced, harvested and bottled. You will get hands on experience working with the frames of honey. While visiting our honey house, you will get to uncap the honey frames, harvest the honey in the manual extractor and bottle your own complimentary 500g jar of our local raw honey. You'll also get to safely see our bees working up close in their observation hive.
While here visiting our farm you will also get to meet our adorable KuneKune pigs. Please wear or bring a change of shoes that you don't mind getting muddy as you will likely receive a few pig "kisses" while visiting with the pigs. You will get the opportunity to get in the pen with the pigs and learn all about this incredible breed. Ever given a pig a belly rub? No? Well now you can! They absolutely love belly rubs, which you'll certainly be able to do and even feed them fresh leaves from our forest. Selfies are encouraged. This event is 1.5 hours in length.
This event is family friendly and all ages are welcome to join. Children 3 and under are free.
Although we love dogs ourselves, our resident dog does not, and for the safety of our farm animals, we kindly ask that you leave your dog at home and do not bring them to our farm.
Covid safety precautions are in place. All attendees must wear a face mask and maintain a 6 foot distance while inside our store or facilities. Time slots are capped at a maximum of 10 people to ensure safe social distancing. Pricing is based on per person for the event duration. Looking for a larger group experience?
